We are fortunate to have a phenomenal team of specialists who provide the best care possible for their patients. Dr. Doug Depew and Dr. Ryan Depew each bring their own expertise, passion and enthusiasm to our practice. They collaborate with each other on high-level cases while participating in continued education to stay on the cutting edge of orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Doug Depew has maintained a thriving orthodontic practice in Kennesaw, Georgia since 1990. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia. He received his dental degree from the Medical College of Georgia where he graduated at the top of his class. His certificate in orthodontics and master’s degree was earned from Baylor College of Dentistry at Baylor University. His pursuit of excellence is exemplified by numerous achievements and awards.
Dr. Depew and his wife, Vicki, have three wonderful children, Andrew, Ashley and Ryan and six incredible grandchildren. And in his spare time, he enjoys working with his horses, computers and various outdoor activities.
Dr. Depew is also the founder and Academic Director of Trapezio, which provides formal training for orthodontic staff members. This innovative program which is conducted online and through hands-on clinical sessions is endorsed by the Amccan Association of Orthodontists and is recognized internationally as the standard for training and certification of orthodontic staff members. As the program creator, Dr. Depew is frequently invited to speak at professional meetings around the country and overseas.
Besides being a sought after lecturer, Dr. Depew takes two to three times the required hours of continuing education each year. He is an active member in of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, and the Georgia Association of Orthodontists, the American Lingual Orthodontic Association, the Spear Dental Study Club, and the Elite Lingual Orthodontic Society.
Dr. Ryan Depew was born and raised in Kennesaw and Acworth, Georgia where he went to Kennesaw Mountain High School and graduated in the class of ’09. Following this, he moved out west to Utah to attend Brigham Young University and major in exercise science. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, followed by his orthodontic training and certificate at Tufts University School of Dentistry.
Throughout school, Dr. Depew has been heavily involved in serving the community. He served as the community outreach chair of his dental class and has provided hundreds of hours serving through the Big Brothers program, Give Kids a Smile, Missions of Mercy, and providing dental care at community clinics. Dr. Depew is active in his profession through membership in the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, and the Georgia Association of Orthodontists
In addition to spending time with his wife, Brooke, and two children, Riley and Carter, Dr. Depew loves being active outdoors through activities like rock climbing, camping, and snowboarding.
After many, many years of school in pursuit of becoming an orthodontist with his Dad, he is finally back in his hometown where he is thrilled to be able to serve his community and raise his family in the good ol’ south.
