Technology
Intra-Oral Scanning

3D Imaging

Our doctors care about your smile and want to have the most information available to provide your care. A 3D diagnostic x-rays provides a three dimensional view of the teeth, surrounding bone, and root orientation. This is extremely valuable in planning complex orthodontic treatment, replacing missing teeth, or planning treatment for impacted teeth. This technology eliminates guesswork and allows us to provide safer and more efficient care. Our 3D imaging machines can take x-rays using lower radiation than typical 2D dental imaging.
Soft Tissue Laser

Our doctors are excited to offer this state-of-the-art technology to our patients. Soft tissue lasers use amplified light travelling through a glass fiber to alter gum tissue. These procedures help to improve the health of the gingival tissue, improve the appearance of the teeth and allow us to straighten your teeth faster. We can use our lasers to expose slowly erupting teeth, remove excessive gum tissue, and to relieve pain from ulcers. No injection is needed for the procedure and there is typically no bleeding or pain.
TADs
Temporary Anchorage Devices, also known as TADs, are miniature bone anchors made of a bio-compatible titanium are painlessly inserted into the bone by our doctors. In short, they allow us to move teeth more predictably in a desired direction without allowing undesirable side effects to other teeth. While they are not needed in most cases, TADs can greatly improve the results of some treatments and can sometimes even avoid the need for jaw surgery, headgear, or dental implants.
Early Treatment
In some patients, when baby teeth are still present between the ages of 6 and 10, we can start to correct significant development problems. For example, severe crowding, overbites, underbites, crossbites, and oral habits. Treatment during this crucial time of growth can sometimes prevent the need for more extensive treatment. Which, including jaw surgeries later in life. The American Association of Orthodontics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend that an initial orthodontic evaluation be completed at age 7. Many patients will not need orthodontic treatment at this age, but close monitoring can identify the most ideal time to start treatment. Some examples of early treatment include:
Expansion
An expander is a painless custom appliance that fits in the roof of a child’s mouth. Using an expander during early orthodontic treatment can create room for crowded erupting teeth, correct crossbites, and prevent future dental impactions.
Habits
Any oral habit can have permanent detrimental effects on a child’s teeth and bite. If finger sucking, prolonged pacifier use, or any other oral habit is present, our doctors can prescribe a painless appliance to assist your efforts in stopping oral habits.
Braces
Phase I braces can assist to correct developing orthodontic problems in young children. Braces at this age can provide room for erupting teeth, cosmetic alignment, crossbite correction, and overbite and underbite correction.
